Currently, the bulk of the robot has been designed and has started to be machined. Most of the structural components have been iterated and changed from the first CAD model shown in the Final Design Presentation given at the end of 2021. These changes were made to make the production of the robot simpler and faster. A big shift was away from 3D printed parts to sheet metal parts too save time and also simplify shapes in the robot. The sheet metal and milled aluminum parts of the robot are currently finalized and currently under production by using the waterjet services provided by the Engineering Machine Shop. More complex structures will be 3D printed and can therefore be easily modified when we enter the prototyping phase (which will be soon!)

Coverings for the robot are still in progress since finalizing the structural design takes precedence. It will occur during prototyping to consider changes that may be made.
